How long have you been a distributor of Vertex Standard two-way radio products and which models are the most popular across your operating territory?

We have been a Vertex Standard distributor for the past five years and the most popular radios are the VX-1700 and 1210 HF models; the VX-160, 350, 820 and 920 portables; and the VX-2100 and 4200 mobiles.

What were the key factors that persuaded you to add Vertex Standard products to your portfolio?

The company manufactures radios for a broad spectrum of applications, namely amateur, marine, airband and commercial; they’re durable, which makes them ideally suited to the harsh terrain of East Africa and they are made in Japan so we can rely on the quality.

Provide some insight into your success with Vertex Standard products and the industry sectors within which you’re most active.

We have managed to sell Vertex technology into some of the largest users of radios in East Africa, the likes of police, army and air forces; navy, wildlife and forest conservation organisations, general industry and farming operations – and all of our clients are happy with the products we have recommended. A particular highlight is the recent installation of a 1KW HF system for the Tanzanian Army which allows them to communicate from Dar-es-salaam to Lebanon.
